Showcase Designs was founded in St. Paul, MN in 1986 by two people who loved cabinetmaking and collecting. Not being able to find any high quality, yet affordable display cabinets, they built their own showcases for their collections. Over time, more and more of their friends asked if they could purchase these cases, and before long a new business was born!
Initially, the company focused on the antiques and collectables industry in the Midwest. Most of the antique shops and malls between the Twin Cities and Chicago use our showcases to display and sell their merchandise. Individual collectors would see our logo in the cases and inquire about using them in their home, and now almost 50% of our business is selling and delivering showcases to home collectors. The company has continued to branch out, both geographically and into other industries, and we now sell to schools, retail stores, museums, government agencies, churches, and many other businesses all over the United States that require quality display products at an affordable price.
In 2005 we expanded into new space for our manufacturing facility and corporate office. This investment in people and equipment will allow us to continue to grow the business and enhance our level of service, all with the intention of better serving the ongoing needs of our customers. Another advantage of still being a small company is our dedicated group of skilled employees who know the name of every customer they are building a case for and who are very proud of the product that we provide. Another feature that our customers love is our worry free delivery and set up service that brings your showcase right to your home or business.
My wife Kris and I bought this business a few years ago because everyone I talked to who owned a display cabinet from Showcase Designs loved the product, and the high level of customer service that the company offered. I am committed to continuing this fine tradition that has been established over the past 20 years.
